  • Affordance: it is a relationship, ex. Affordance of touching exists on the entire screen
  • Signifier: designer put a circle on screen to signify user where to touch
  • Affordance determine what actions are possible. Signifiers communicate where the action should take place.
  • Signifiers refers to any mark or sound, any perceivable indicator that communicates appropriate behavior to a person
  • Ex. PUSH on a door
