  1. Index information is stored in system.indexes
  2. Commands: createIndex, createIndexes, dropIndex, dropIndexes
  3. db.collectionName.getIndexes()
> db.users.getIndexes()
[ { "v" : 2, "key" : { "_id" : 1 }, "name" : "_id_" } ]
  1. Key can be used for hinting
